Is there any places online i can get a new p1 frame? Just the frame?

They might if they have a good relationship with specialized. You usually get a frame under warranty only though...

I see new and close to new P frames on Ebay regularly. Usually go for pretty cheap.

look for one at your bike shop. they're not sold individually, but specialized does liquidate remaining frames -- i scored a sweet deal on one my lbs had picked up. Another LBS i was looking at had one on warranty that they were willing to sell.

BTW we've got a P2 cromo frame just chillin in the shop like the one posted above, don't know if it's for sale or what. It won't work if you want gears because the chainline's off but otherwise it's all good.

Specialized will not sell direct. Best bet is if they have any left-overs they want to sell to dealers or a bike that a dealer stripped.

the 2006 p2 crmo is pretty sweet. The reason i went for the 07 P.1 (699) over the 06 P.2 (719 on sale!) was becuase mainly the fork. I thought i would want gears like on the p.2 but i was open to try ss since many say itsss swweet, i'll hav to see for my self FEB 9 th baby!

Whats it mean when the chainline is off? How much is it?

It means the rear end isn't perfectly straight for gears, but it'll work for SS.

ojai, not sure what you mean by the chainline, all p.'s are compatible with gears... unless you modified or otherwise bent the frame. they are all gear compatible except for the last generation p.1 frame that was 24" specific rear.

The BB wasn't placed correctly. It was a run of bad P.2s that got recalled.

okay... well... just for your information... p.2 cromo, p.2, and p.3 for the '06 year were all 6mm offset in the rear... as a matter of fact, they are for the '07 year as well.
