I have had my mountain bike for about 3 years now and it was used when I got it. So when do I start to upgrade my components?
Whenever you feel like it dude!! :)

But if you are like me it will only happen when absolutely necessary!
The drivetrain will probably be first in line, then maybe the fork and then other parts as needed.
I like to upgrade things like grips regularly, lock ons being my favourite.
Contact points on the bike are important to me (grips, saddle and pedals). If you aren't happy with these then you have your starting point.
