I was going to convert my crossmax sl wheel with a Single Speed Conversion Kit.
Would it be a problem to race on this wheel and would it damage the hub?

As long as you use a wide based cog you're good to go.

My SS has XMax with Endless spacer kit and cog, no marks on the freehub so far.

Ditto on the wide based cog. The wheels should be just fine though. I've never known of a geared wheel that wasn't "strong" enough for Single Speeding. Have fun!
