it's in excellent shape....

the bike was custom built by a shop mechanic from available parts. 90% of which were new some were used. The bike is in practically new condition. Some light scratches from transporting .

I guess to make a long story short does $1200 sound like too much for this ride?

Again, hard to say w/o seeing it. Since it's a 2002 you won't have a warranty. Not sure about the front shock, does it come w/disc brakes? $1200 seems a bit high to me though.

I wouldn't pay $1200. Mars Bleh. I bet those raceface carbon cranks are the old school square taper ones with the carbon insert stickers on them.
