Evening all,
can anybody help me identity this bottom bracket and more importantly the correct tool to remove it. Look at enclosed attachment, a standard 20spline bb remover will not do it note the spacing on enclosed attachment the profile is a mixture of narrow and wide spacing and any tool would need splines on the inner circumference of the tool to mate correctly with the one on my bike.
bike is a 2016 specialized crosstrail and I cannot find any info on the web to help,

It is original I've had bike from new, bit of a bad buy what with tektro brakes, wish I'd spent a lot more but didn't know how much I'd enjoy cycling suffice to say I've brought more bikes since.
Really don't wanna use a hammer

Thanks Mike for the park-tool link, sadly can't see the variant I need my bb has external notches so any splined tool would have to have the splines on the inner circumference of the tool not the outer, as they wouldn't mate together, a real puzzle, not impressed with specialized designed!

Hard to tell with the straight on shot. Are you saying the area with the red line is higher than the area with the blue line?

You have the answer twice above...

The standard 20-tooth tool will work.

Interested to see if the 20t works. I don’t understand how the tool can “skip” teeth, since the missing notches would prevent the rest of the tool from engaging. Maybe I’m not thinking about it correctly.

Those spots where metal is missing would not actually prevent the tool from engaging, as there's simply no metal there.

Yeah, it would be a different issue if those larger gaps were filled in.

Got it! I was seeing red higher than blue for some reason.
