What to use for helmet cam protection

498 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Wherewolf
I just purchased a DV camera and a helmet cam setup, and was wondering what you guy's used to protect the DV camcorder (inside the camelbak) and the actual helmet cam. In case of a minor to serious crash.

I had some ideas which is to use a pvc pipe for the helmet cam, and use a hard shell case for the camcorder.

Since these are just ideas. What other options has anyone tried for either one.

Nothing and Rubbermaid container

By helmet-cam I assume you mean a lipstick cam? If so it does not need any protection. I used to pack my camcorder in a Rubbermaid container. See my video how to section. And be sure to take any plastic lens cover off the lipstick cam to prevent fogging and improve the image and colors.
