Sizing again....

I am used to riding Medium size frames in the last 7 years or so.
Riding with short (50 mm) stems and it seems like it is not enough to run a short stem when it comes to controling a bike in turning and jumping..

Selling my old frame and would like to know your thoughts.

Thanks

Saar

What bike do you have now?
Can you compare its geometry numbers with the Rune?
http://www.bansheebikes.com/bikes/rune.html

What I read in the Rune numbers:
The TT on the Medium is a bit longer than what I have on my old Scirocco. Seat angle is 2 or 3 degrees slacker, so I'd have the seat more forward on the post of a Rune, effectively making the bike shorter. I think it would work for me at 176 cm (almost 5'10").

Seat tube on the Small is only 15". Is it enough for you?

Sizing

My current bike:
ETT is 23.5" \ stem is 2" \ Overall reach is 25.5"
ST is 17.2" \ minimal seat post is 10" \ my inseam is 30"

The ETT is long for a M size bike and the stem is very short.
The seat tube has to be equal or shorter than the existing.

What I am looking for is overall reach of 24.7"
A 22" ETT sounds OK with a 2.7" stem
The seat post will have to be 2" longer, does not look like a problem to me.

Just wanted to hear from others that are the same hight..

Sounds like the Medium Rune would be just slightly smaller than your current bike (and you seem to feel your bike is a little large now). With the Small, you could run a longer stem (70 mm?), and a good long seat post to make sure you have enough post in the frame (to prevent damage to frame or post).

OK... I don't have a Rune, and I am taller than you. Let's see what others think.
