Hoping to set up some drivetrain options for the bike I have on order. (1x10 and quick change to 2x10) I'm not sure the Cannondale tech docs are up to date.

It will come w/ the spider for XX rings. (26,39) 80mm-120mm BCD.

What other spiders are available? Triple vs. Double, 4 bolt vs 5 bolt, BCD?

Hoping for a comprehensive list so I can hash out my options. But I'm hoping for a 4x104mm triple, to set up the 1x10 with a chain guard and centered chainline.

you wrote for 1 x 10

i did it with a 110mm BCD spider , compact road spider and a 36T oval rings from Rotor Spain ciclocross ring, mounted internally

can do it with a 130mm road spider too ... limit is the ring teeth size only :p

however also there are :

5 arms 94mm BDC spider , double 40 up to 44 as big ring , 29T as minimum as little ring

5 arms 94 -58 mm BCD spider , triple or can be used as double using a 20T as minimun as little ring . very rare , older triple standard until 2003-2004

4 arms 104-64 mm BCD spider , triple or can be used as double

4 arms 120-80 mm BCD spider , XX rings only , 25T as minimum as little

obviously i have at least one piece of every type :D

Thanks Eliflap.

I'll likely go with the 5 arm compact road or the 4 arm 104mm triple. Depends on chainring availability.

N'Gear jump stop on the inside & Spot Brand chain guard in place of the big ring.

Thanks again.

please consider this point too:

spiders has different offsets ( i not wrote in previous message but for 94mm double there are 2 versions , for 68 or 73mm BB shells ) and frames has differents chainstays width too...

so sometimes you cannot have a successfully set up as you want...

for example :

Scalpel carbon with 4 arms 104-64 mm spider , modified as double .

max bigger ring in middle position is 38 or 39T ( sorry not remember well, maybe Kayba can helps you well in this point )

installing a 40T or bigger , you hit the chainstays ...

consider a no spider combo ... here in Italy at least 4 companies produce that type of combo as picture ... installing only the bigger ring for 1 x 10 with a shoter spindle for correct chainline maybe can be another way to have your set up
