These neanderthals here are work still prefer 800x600, and we have this one shared computer where if I change the resolution to 1152x768 and forget to change it back, they bítch and moan.

Anyway, I was browsing mtbr on that shared computer at 800x600 and noticed how friggin huge some of the 800 pixel wide photos I posted appear on screen.

I kind of assume most folks, at least most web-savvy mtbr surfers, use at least 1024x768 or 1280x1024. Am I wrong? How many of you are using 800x600 and hate big photos?

What size monitor?

At home I use 1280 on a 19"; at work 1024 on a 15".

I'm running dual monitors. I have a 21" Trinitron (Dell P1130) I run at 1600x1200, and the 12" LCD on my laptop running at 1024x768. Before you laugh at running a 12" screen, I mainly use it to keep iTunes open, so I can always access it easily.

Yeah I have a 19" flat samsung crt monitor and am running 1280x1024. At work I run 1152x864 and when someone has to use my workstation they always put it back down to a lower setting and it pisses me off....grrrrrr....

At work I'm in a similar situation as MoparShaha... dual monitors. A 21" CRT @ 1600x1200, and a 15" Flat Panel @ 1024x768. (Love those dual monitor vid cards!!!)

At home: 19" CRT @ 1152x864.

MTBR did a poll on screen resolution (over 4000 replies)...
This is the new and improved '04 version, now with monitor sizing.

For '05 we're going to get into the nitty-gritty: 15 pin D-Sub analog connector versus 25 pin DVI.

Thanks for the link.

1600x1200 both home and work. I use remote desktop from home so different resolutions would screw everything up. Also happen to have the same Sony monitor for both, but home is OEM Dell, work is OEM Micron.

If anyone in the SF Bay Area is interested in a my old 21" Dell semi-flat monitor, let me know. $35 takes it, and I can arrange to meet or deliver. The thing is too expensive to box and ship. I have 1 or 2 other 17"s for free if anyone wants it. (Donate to a school or something?)
