Quick question. I've got an 05 Prophet 2000 with XT disc brakes and the Carbon Lefty Max fork. What parts specifcially do I need to put an 8" rotor on the front? I assume it is just an 8" rotor and an adaptor...??? But I have no idea who makes them or where to buy. Anyone who has done this or knows how I'd appreciate your insight. Thanks,
Tony

You will need what ever adapter converts your brake caplier to 8", this should come from your brake manufacturer. Beyond that you will only need a rotor. The factory boot is cleared for and 8" rotor.

I switched my Prophet to 7" Avid Jucies in about 10 min. Great upgrade.

How 'bout a brakeless lefty?

You need a Shimano International Standard (IS) to 8" front adaptor, and an 8" rotor. THat is it.
For a build with a lefty, what would be needed to install an 8" rotor? I would assume the Shimano adaptor wouldn't be needed, but would I still need some type of adaptor to put on an 8" rotor for a Juicy 7?

You will need an Avid IS to 8" adaptor for the front wheel.

Not like that.

Yes it will make a difference once I break it in. Oh it will stop me faster then I probably need to be stopped.
You will be able to do brake endo's, but what I like about the 8" up front is less arm pump. That, and stopping on pavement from 50-0 mph is 3-4 car lengths with 1 finger on each lever. You will never want for brake power again.
