I'm looking at purchasing a Hakko 936 for soldering R/C lipo batteries and doing some light building. Any have experience or feedback on the Hakko?

I have a 936-12, works great! One tip I'll offer: Mine came with the 907 handpiece. The tips for a 908 handpiece will not fit the 907, so if you order more tips, make sure you get the right ones.

I just bought a hakko 936 based...

Don't know which one I have exactly, but it is a hakko. Bought it when I was in college, so it is somewhere between 15-20yrs old, and has seen a lot of use. Still runs strong.

I have a Weller Pyro Pen gas powered iron. The problem with it, is too much heat, not really any way to regulate.
