Does your bike belong to the Trek-Fisher brand of bikes or have Bontrager hubs? I so, that looks like the tool for adjusting the Bontrager hubs on your bike. If it does not have Bontrager hubs, then I don't know what I'm talking about.

Forgive my ignorance, but this tool came with my bike and I have no idea what it is.
Its a XL fish hook for catching big fat carp :D

Just kidding

It is for your Bontrager bottom bracket - I don't know why they still use that lockring style

The best way to use it is to take hubs to shop to be adjusted. I never learned how to use one, I just let the top mechanic do that task. Even he did not like to adjust bantrager hubs.

what kinda bike do you have? it is a spanner wrench, could be used for adjusting the preload on a rear shock maybe...or if it is real small it could be used as a beer opener...
