Some remix of "Eastbound and Down" The Smokey and the Bandit Theme with the Movie's sound FX.

I guess I downloaded it by mistake, but it's awesome for riding! Motors roaring, CB chatter, burning rubber, crashes, Air Horns and Smokey's Sirens in the background the whole song...It makes me want to fill my camelpak with PBR jump a bridge….

While I ride the trainer...probably one of the Wylde Stallion songs from Bill and Ted that Steve Vai played on.

Exactly. I've got enough external stimuli to keep up with!! ;)

But I do get songs stuck in my head while riding, and here in central Texas, this one often pops up: Katrina and the Waves, "Walking on Sunshine."

Will Smith might be lame or silly to some, and he is not really in my genre of listening, but I always love some Will Smith when I'm ridin'....but then I have a decent amount of respect for the guy, so I like him.

Eastbound and Down!

I put the smokey & da bandit themesong to a DH video during the Kamakazi section at Mammoth! Worked super and gave everyone some amusement....of course the lead in was the Monday Night Football theme!

I seem to go into the A-team theme when things get techie. I'll also sheepishly admit that a number of disco tunes have graced my MP3 player on rides :D ....good for keeping the tempo on a long climb.

I don't listen to music while riding, but just before dropping into a steep, rocky, technical descent, the little ditty song from the 'Vonage' commercial about stupid things people do, pops out my mouth.

Silliest

Silliest (though for me alone) but still moves me to grind up the snarliest steep, The Automatic - Monster, voted 39th @Top 40 UK charts (14-01-2007, a DHZ Inc., released)

What's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster?!? Is it a monster?!? :p

Keep pedaling!

Ride insp¹®ed!

[by glen cambell...actually the songs kinda cool..
Wait a sec....that album cover shows Glen singing Otis Redding's Dock of the Bay?

That's just not right. THAT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!!!

Looking at the album cover, though, it says (Sittin' On) the Dock AT the Bay. So hopefully it's a different song. Yeah. Let's go with that.

Good bit of music trivia: Glen Campbell was the guitar player on the song "Tequila." And judging from that infamous DUI arrest picture, I'm sure he's had his share!

Get your motor running, head out on the highway

Pretty much every day on my commute I sing "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf on the 4000 foot long down hill (the vertical is probably only a hundred feet or so) from my kid's preschool to my school. The traffic is kind of dense and chaotic (lots of buses and a sudden lane drop) for that stretch, so attitude comes in handy.

That song really can stun the unintiated. I remember seeing Ween in 1999 (I think, right after the country album came out) at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA. When they started that tune about half the crowd just kind of sat there looking appalled. Damn good show. Stu the Slide Guitarist drank half a bottle of Jack and did the whole encore set wearing a costume hockey mask with his pipe stuck in the mouth grill.

I get "Bananas and Blow" in my head when I'm riding sometimes. I like the mellow yet paranoid vibe.

For those who don't know Ween, they are pure rock gods:

When I am hammering I sing....

If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the mornin',
I'd hammer in the evenin', all over this land.
I'd hammer out danger, I'd hammer out a warnin',
I'd hammer out a love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land. Well, if I had a bell, I would ring it in the mornin',
And I would ring it in the evenin', all over this land.
I'd ring out danger, I'd ring out a warnin',
I'd ring out a love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.
Now if I had a song, I would sing it in the mornin',
I would sing it in the evenin', all over this land.
I'd sing out danger, I'd sing out a warnin',
I'd sing out a love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.
Well, I've got a hammer and I've got a bell,
And I've got a song to sing, all over this land.
It's the hammer of justice, it's a bell of freedom,
It's a song about love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.
All over this land.
