usually you will need to get a new upper assembly of the steerer tube, crown and stanchions but some fork companies will press a new steerer tube in the crown for you
If this is real, wouldn't it be easier and less time consuming to just grab another board and cut it correctly?highdelll said:snip

Is the measurement with headsets listed on pricepoint in regard to the height, or how far out they go? Such as 25.4mm vs 31.8mm, etc.Turveyd said:How short is to short ?? Smaller Headset, smaller Stem height wise and you can get a extender which bolts on like a stem but goes up to attach another stem higher.
You'd be looking for a headset with a low "stack height".Roasted said:Is the measurement with headsets listed on pricepoint in regard to the height, or how far out they go? Such as 25.4mm vs 31.8mm, etc.
If that's the case, what does the 25.4 or 31.8mm measurements mean?kramnnim said:You'd be looking for a headset with a low "stack height".

Holy ****. No thanks... I was hoping you could spend a couple bucks and just get a new tube pressed in place...chexem said:I cut a Fox RLC 29 too short about a year ago. I made it work but called Fox and they will put in a new upper assembly for about $300 (as I recall). Good suggestion up top on low profile headsets.
Yeah. I see that. But still... I thought it'd be a little easier (aka cheaper) to get a new one pressed in...Zoke2 said:see post #14
I cant even count the number of times I have had people go look for bored stretchers. I had a guy that worked with me take an old car rim into NAPA and ask the guy working there how much a "rim job" would be..... ignorant people make me laugh so hard.highdelll said:
