Hi All, sorry to go sort of off topic, but does anyone know what happened to steve3? I was searching for the Paul's 4" Rocker thread in "General," but I can't seem to find it. Also, it seems that (at least) some of his posts are missing. Have his posts/threads actually been deleted? If so, does anyone know why? In any case, all the best.

[Edit]: Just to be perfectly clear, I meant "all the best" to everyone here, not "its all for the best." I don't have anything against him (in fact, I'm fairly grateful to him for organizing the whole rocker thing). As far as his missing posts/threads go, its sort of Orwellian (and thus quite unnerving)...

Yeah he's been purged. I looked up one of my own posts where I know he responded and he was no longer there.

I gave up on the ignore list because I discovered that with someone on it you can't always make sense out of threads where they're included.

The people on my ignore list basically have a zero content to noise ratio, so I'm really not missing anything that would've made much sense in the first place.

Banned? Wow! I didn't know the powers that be are ousting people. Cool! Steve3 never really bothered me, but then again I never paid much attention to his posts either. I guess he was on my subliminal Ignore List.

Remember, Ellsworth has quite a few ads on this site and he wields a lot of power because of it.

I recall correctly, he was stirring up trouble in quite a few forums. Every post seemed to be calling someone to task. He seemed to jump in on every CS discussion everywhere and turn it into a trainwreck. I agree that he did raise some interesting questions and probably was instrumental in some changes, but the ill feelings and general negativity that came with it may not have been worthwhile.

He also challenged several moderators on their policy...not necessairly a awful thing but it was how he went about it that really showed poor form.

I was really hoping he'd tone down after he had some time on his new bike but alas, that was not to be.

Too bad for the ppl waiting on the rockers. But then I'm sort of glad not to see his "Turner Rocker" Sig at the heart of every flamefest.

He wasn't the only person to behaive that way, but he was by far, the most visible and frequent. It's a sad thing to see anyone booted, sader still to see posts deleted, but I could see this one comming, for quite a while.

I've attempted contact with the powers that be to see if they can dig up the "rocker thread" for us. It'd be alot easier than starting over.

Originally, I thought steve3's review of the Burner was very helpful. After some time spent on the boards, though, I saw alot of flamefests with him in the middle.

Guess we need to play nice.

I understand why the moderators may have booted him, but like you......I really wish they had left his posts. When it comes to history, I'm not a revisionist. The past is the past. Wiping out his posts is wrong, even if the posts did stir up some trouble

It looks like the moderators feel that damage control supercedes the truth (no pun intended), because the truth is ugly.

I hope all of the people counting on Steve 3 still get their rockers.

I wonder if that is why we havent seen Smokey lately? He did a few posts taking the piss out of Tony Ellsworth.

I certainly hope Ells. didn't have anything to do with it, that would be very sad(as in pathetic). MTBR doesn't seem afraid of calling a spade a spade, regardless of adv. $, so I doubt TE had anything to do with it.

I am trying to remember Steve3's posts and cannot recall anything that warranted bansihment. MTBR should be open to us all except perhaps in very very extreme cases. I remember some of his Ellsworth bashing, and yes, it was too much, but banishment seems way too extreme. Of course, I probably skipped over 90% of his bashing TE posts. Anyway, I hope there was more than what I can remember that caused his banishment. Even if you could not stand his comments, he did have positive contributions. Go to the political forum and its 90% insult fest. Who is getting banished there?
