What happened to all the full suspension framesets?

I have a glut of parts sitting around enough for a bike, I just need a frame. I understand we're in the midst of a bike shortage, but it seems like affordable frameset options (<$1,000) just are not available any more. It seems like the only frames I can buy (boost, 29er, 120-130mm travel) are Chinese carbon fiber, which I would prefer not to. Anyone have any leads?

I'm open to hardtails and find it equally difficult to find a basic frame. A few years ago I bought a salsa timberjack frameset for $450, its been awesome, now I can't find the frame in stock (it costs $600), or anything even similar.

I'm selling a frame set, it's 27.5 and either 155 or 165mm of travel but I'm not sure it's what you're looking for.

Stanton Sherpa 29. Link. Also available it TI. Order quickly. Because of this.

Also look at the Banshee Paradox V3. Link. Review on Hardtail Party.

If you were not prefer carbon fiber bike frame, you can check Nordest's Ti or steel frames, they seems good. a Spain frame company.

With the shortage and demand for complete bikes, i am guessing the profit margin is greater when they sell full bike at whatever level trim they can assemble together.

There are plenty Yeti frames and S work frames around if thats your thing, and your size. But not even Santa Cruz frames are available online like they used to be.

Totally agree on the margin analysis, no reason to sell a frame when you can slap $500 in parts and sell it for $1000 more. I would love a Yeti or Sworks frame, just a bit out of my budget at this point, specially since this would be a backup bike for friends when they visit.
major bike manufacturers have slowly been reducing the number of framesets they offer for sale for years. for a lot of them, the only ones they were offering pre-pandemic were their top end framesets.

smaller manufacturers these days are more reliable sources for frames. but as for everybody, availability is a little slim, so you might have to wait if you're being choosy.

This and I was just reading a bit about Campagnolo's future and they admitted that they missed the boat in reacting to the shift in the market.

One of their main market was people who buy frames and then put great effort into selecting each component and that is not happening anymore on a scale large enough to support them.

Now most people want to by complete bikes and manufactures also offer different builds for a broader appeal.

I'm clearly not most people. I really prefer building my own bikes. Then again, I actually like the build process too.

But yes, 'boutique' brands are a whole lot easier to find frames from than majors. Then again, been that way for a while.

The Paradox is a great bike, but the frame's way more expensive than the salsa is

I'm in the same situation. I bent the D hanger on my Chinese carbon bike, no way of getting another one. Carbon hard tails are just hard to find right now. There are some Yeti ARCs hanging around, but those are pretty pricey. I noticed Competitive Cyclist is showing some SC Chameleon Aluminum frames in stock -- that may fit the bill for you.
