I've just started riding a single-speed 29er and want to try some longer rides in the Wilson's Creek area of GFMRD. I'm presently using a 32t front ring and a 20t rear comb...is this too low/high for Wilson's Creek. What gear combo do you use if you ride a SS?

ps I'm a longtime rider of the Wilson's Creek area, just have always ridden 26ers or a 29er with gears. Thanks!

I've been running 32/22 on my 29. Seems to work fine for me. My route usually includes a ride up 181 to Rasberry to start thing off. I've run a 21 before. It's just wears on me too much. The 22 allows me to sit on the gear a bit more.

Wilson's Creek still sucks/blows but it's the only place I've got! Thanks Enoch and 2morrow...I think I'm going to try this weekend with the 32/20 combo...see how much I suck/blow and then decide to go up or down. Never thought I would like the feel of SS bikes till I finally tried one out for myself!
