I am wanting to get a new frame. Since I am really happy with the geometry of my current bike I am searching for something similar. I ride a Felt Nine Pro today and am simply switching since its getting a bit old (3 years now) and I want to treat myself and get something lighter and maybe even better. This jungle of bikes out there makes it hard to know how what to get. Moreover, since I live in the LDC of biking I will probably buy the ride in the US (I travel there frequently) and will not, most likely, have the chance to ride it before purchase... So again, I would appreciate some suggestions.

I am not sure how much the frame weighs but it is not very light. I am not opposed to a carbon frame and the Felt Nine carbon is an option. But maybe it would be fun to try something else. The geometry is probably normal but way different from a Niner EMD, which I rode last summer. I didnt like the ride at all, as I felt (...) I was riding too tall ie. the weight distribution was too high up.

You might be feeling the slightly lower BB on the felt, but it could be a few other things...was the bike the same size (top tube) and was the fork the same length? Stem height the same? All else the same, looks like you may prefer low BB's. The only other big difference looks like the front centre and wheel base, but I can't imagine a longer would make you feel on top.

The size of the EMD was´nt identical but it would be my size. As for the fork, same length. I am sure you are right that the BB height over ground is the difference.

Any suggestion on a great frame? I also might add that I would like to get frame without integrated headset since I want to build this bike with some parts I have, including Chris King´s headset.

sorry, I'm not much help as I don't know the weights and BB heights of the aluminium frames around. If you are feeling the small differences, the option of the carbon Felt seems like a good idea, as you'll be more likely to get what you want. You may limit yourself with the headset too as a lot of newer frames may come with a tapered HT.
