what does troll mean?

Troll = someone that posts a topic or a reply to a topic, usually something inflamatory, offensive or controversial, to bait an emotional or charged response.tmccrohon said:I keep reading about trolls on the message board. So, last night after a great after work bike ride, I put my last big Oatmeal Stout in the freezer to cool it down a bit while I took a shower. For some reason, I decided to pour it into a frosty mug. I usually stick with a bottle 99.9% of the time. Then, I settled in the pooter room to surf bike sites.
Life is grand so far. I feel wonderful.
I start read the backlog of Passion posts. Reach for my fresh beer and promptly spill half of it in my lap. Waaaaa!
Note: The above is an example of Pseudo Trolling.
a.) It is a weekend and all the regulars are not sitting at their work stations – they are riding, hence no fear of getting "yelled" at.
b.) I mentioned beer. That allows me another small concession. At least from Finch.
c.) I included bike content, so no one can say I’m just a troll who typed “passion” in google looking for free porn sites.
d.) Everyone has done this at some point and can relate. They may not respond, which is usually where threads die a peaceful death.
I sure hate to waste good beer though….. think I'm traumatized?
