Hubs are just as important as rims and spokes. The cheap hubs spec'd by many companies fail prematurely and aren't very user serviceable or easily convertible to different axle standards.
I'd suggest the same rims laced to I-9's. You could go all out if the budget allows and go with the system hubs and spokes.
The classic flanged hubs will give you the high engagement and universal axle compatibility as well as easier to source spokes without the bigger price tag.
Either way the Reynolds rims are pretty nice.
