My dad's approaching that retirement age where he's not riding anymore (hasn't ridden in 15+ yrs for a variety of medical reasons) but anyhow, he's got these really really old bikes just gathering dust in the basement. Seeing how we need more space, what do you normally do with these bikes? Can they be traded in for any redeemable value at an LBS? or just donate them to the nearest goodwill?

IF you want to get rid of them I would suggest doing a completed items search on ebay for that make and model. You might be sitting on big $$$$.

Well you could do what a guy at the Summer Solstice does....makes art work out of them. Old tires are good for trail building (grips on wood).........oh and you can always try ebay as a lot of people with old bikes and use them are always on there to see if they can find parts even if they don't need them at that moment.
