hi, i bought the base model hardrock last week because i wanted it in yellow. im looking to install a front brake setup because the current setup uses pads only. what does everybody recommend that i get, i was looking at the avid bb7, any body have experience with them? my shop said that i need a new front rim too. what are your recommendations? thank you for your time and enjoy riding out there this weekend wherever you are. ;)

Pretty much new rims that is Disc compliant, and a Disc brake set. thats about it.
Well, technically, what you need to change is the hub, not the rim. It might be cheaper buying a new wheelset, or just the front wheel. Besides the brakes, if you go for the BB7, you will probably need to replace cabling.
Excellent, now I know. It wouldve been a great project for me but I returned the base hardrock and upgraded it for the hardrock disc in neon green. I really liked the yellow but it was a sacrifice that I had to take. Thanks for the help guys!
