Hi.

I want to use my 2002 RFX for sport-class dh and some shuttling.
What is the largest ring you have fit?

I have fit:

34t with 113mm BB
36t with 118mm BB

Both with E13 chainguide.

Now I have a Hone crankset, and wonder how large a ring I can use.
I'm sure I can fit a 36 now, but unsure about 38.

Any ideas?

I'm using a 38T with SRS, feels just right for DH.
You can use a larger ring with your bike no problem, you may need to get a larger diameter bash plate though, it depends on what size you have now. I've tried a 34t and 36t and have been very happy with a 38t..........BTW riding an rfx as well ;)

Then there has to be differences between sizes or year models.
With a 113mm Octalink BB and XT cranks a 36t caught the chainstays!

With a 118mm no problem, but I doubt I could fit a 38 in there.

Weird...and I don't like it :)

I have a 36t Evil supercharger, but I will get the complete SRS with a 40 so I can choose.

I am not sure how "wide" the Hone bb-axel actually is, I guess I will have to try different stuff.
