I am new to downhill. I want to buy a bike but am uncertian to the size. I am 5'10" with a 32" inseam and typically ride a 16 or 17" hardtail for xc. I rode bmx for years as a kid and think I want a bike on the small side. DH bikes seem to go small, med, or large. What are your thoughts on proper sizing. Thanks

Depends on the bike and preference of riding style. You should probably go to the manufacturers website.

Thanks, I was planning on getting a good starter bike like a GT DHi. Not going to be doing any big cliff jumps, just want to run the ski resorts and DH races. It seems like the manufacturer websites always lean towards putting you on the larger bike. figured you guys might know better with experience.

I'm 6' and lean to the smaller frame, so I ride a med. We have similer backgrounds so maybe go with a med. Do not go to a small you will have no room in your cockpit, and rack your knees all the time.

id say go for a medium
