Hi. Visiting family in the Bay Area and I’m debating bringing a bike up with me.

It’s been about 20 years since I’ve ridden at Rockville so I figure I might go there.

I have an SB130 and a 2020 Enduro. I assume the SB130 should be fine but thought I’d ask here…

thx!

I'd go with a bike with wheels, air in the tires, a frame, a functioning drivetrain, brakes, handlebars, and a seat/saddle. You'll be good if you have all that!
LOL say that again!

Answering the question, I ride an SB130 as well and been able to ride about any trail. You'll be good to go at Rockville.

Tip: start the ride as early as possible.

All due respect but if you are visiting the Bay Area, you'd be better served riding closer to the ocean...funner trails, more options. I'd find a way to ride SC, Pacifica, Demo or Nisene, maybe even Skeggs with the right guide. If you are finding yourself near Rockville, then yeah, that makes sense.

for me, more travel is better. rockville is a playground for sessioning tech stuff, it's not a place for racking up big vert or long distances. So even tho i'm in the minority here, i'd go with more travel rather than less. (unless you can smash the tech no problem with a short travel rig).

+1 for the longer travel rig. You will open up some more line options with the bigger bike, or at least maybe have a bit more confidence.

i would just take the enduro. the climbs at rockville are not hard at all, and you're not going to rack up much elevation gain there, may as well have the big rig for hitting some gnar lines.

that being said...are you really set on rockville?

maybe it was mr. percussive?

Nah, wasn't me. Haven't been to Rockville in close to a year... Rockville is definitely pretty fun on a gravel bike though. The grades aren't that steep so it's easy enough to trials your way through stuff and the rocks actually help as points of deceleration which is nice because slick gravel tires usually don't do much in terms of braking traction 😅
