What 26in tires

I need some 26x2.3-2.5 tires for a build but not really sure what to get. I want something faster rolling then Minion DHF but not shitty like Ardents. It would be nice if Maxxis made 26in Rekons but they don't so is there something equivalent in 26in? It doesn't need to be Maxxis. I am just more familiar with Maxxis' lineup.

It’s getting harder and harder to find decent 26” tires.

In Maxxis, I’d recommend a Dual Compound Minion if you want better rolling. They roll noticeably better than MaxTerra or softer. They don’t make any of their newer models in 26” — otherwise I’d suggest an aggressor.

Schwalbe still makes 26” Magic Marys, though they are not fast rolling. Their 2.35 MMs are close to an actual 2.5 if your rims are wider than 25mm inner width. Traction for days.
Rene Herse makes a very fast rolling 26 x 2.3 Humptulips Ridge tire. Put one on the back of one of our recumbent bikes for riding a combo of pavement and gravel. Was using the now discontinued Schwalbe 26" Racing Ralph. The Schwalbe was decent in gravel and dirt, but a little slower and nosier than I wanted out on pavement. The Humtulips Ridge also has decent grip, but is much smoother, faster and quieter on pavement. Not cheap, though.
Not sure if they're considered worse or better than the Ardents but I found the Continental Cross Kings to be quite stable on my 26" HT.
Continental makes their entire range in 26”.
I’ve tried
Race king - love it but around here summer only 1+ knob
Cross king - multipurpose xc tire 2+ knob
Mountain king- , trust it as rear only. Fine on the rear. 3 knob
Trail king- confused by the tread pattern, but it wasn’t the knob I thought it would be, sent it back unused.

bike #1 (mine)
summer tires: cross king front race king rear
Winter tires: dhf front mountain king rear

bike 2 (daughter)
Summer cross king front and rear
Winter cross king front mountain king rear

I was kind of thinking about Contis but I was undersure how grippy they were.

My issue with Ardents is the weird transition from the main knobs to side knobs feels really weird and prone to washing out.

Can't really recommend it unless you're riding in conditions where the DHF starts clogging up. It has even more rolling resistance than a DHF and the traction is worse unless you're riding in wet/sloppy conditions.

The transition from the main knobs to side knobs sucks so bad.

Thats interesting ive been riding them for 2 seasons now they seem to work fine here on the CO front range.
Whaer do you ride?
And when you say the transition sucks do they break loose quickly when you lean into them?
