Rigid ' 07 XL Salsa El Mariachi 27.5 LBS

built with Alfine 8 speed IGH, Selle Italia SLR saddle. XTR 975 brakes 160/140. 36 spoke Salsa rims laced to IGH and front XT hub. Ritchey stem and post. Middleburn cranks with SKF stainless roller BB. 32/20 gearing. pd 520 pedals. Truvative 20mm riser bar 680mm wide.

The IGH is a total pig. The bike with XTR 1 x 9 or 1 X 10 would be ~25 lbs. Single speed, maybe 23 or 24 lbs.

I have never weighed mine but it is HEAVY. Gotta be close to 28+

Voodoo Dambala with a 100mm TA Minute, set up 1x9. Ardent Front, MK 2.4 rear, Halo Rims, DMR Revolver Hubs, Straight gauge spokes, SLX crankset, wide bars,

I could save a LOT of weight in wheels, but i wanted trouble free and stiff (not to mention affordable). I built it to be clyde proof and a do anything trail bike. as I continue to lose weight, i might start trimming more weight off the bike too.:)

Large On-One Inbred 29er, 2x9 with Manitou Tower Pro 100mm, Flows laced with Shimano M629s and Spec Purgatory Control 2blis 2.2 (f) and GEAX Saguaro 2.2 folding (r). With Cages, saddle bag, and Shimano M530 pedals I am right under 28lbs. Not the lightest build but you know what, I love the way it rides and to me it FLIES!

Never properly weighed mine, but on the bathroom scale my rigid KM comes in around 27-28lbs with 38mm slicks and about 28>lbs with knobbies. Been meaning to weigh it and the Paradox properly and will ty to do so next week. Build on the KM is XT cranks and rings, LX shifters & derailleurs, WTB Speeddisc wheels, Thomson 120/0 stem, heavy Marin low rise bar, heavy generic post, Ergon grips, Mono Mini brakes, 520 pedals.

I am surprised...

that most bikes in this thread seem to weigh more than mine. My frame does weigh 4.5 lbs which is pretty light for a 20in steel frame built for a 250lb guy. My bike has no real bling parts unless you call a Salsa carbon flat bar, Salsa steel stem, TIME carbon pedals and Moots ti post bling. I have a Bonty Mustang/XTR wheelset, Geax Saguaro's w/Stans, Truvativ Stylo (2x8) 180mm crankset, Sram 9.0sl 8speed gripshift drivetrain and White Bros BW.8 fork (also pretty light) are all old school and out of vogue on this forum but work great for me. I also run Avid single digit ti levers and v brakes, which happen to be lighter than discs. I have not broken a single thing on my bike (wore out tires, that's it) in over 4 years and countless miles in different states. From that standpoint alone I am very, very pleased with my choices.

My Gunnar was just under 5 pounds, maybe 4.9 or 4.8 IIRC. That's pretty light for a big frame--just over a pound heavier than my Ti Motobecane, or my old Mamasita, Dos Niner, or Stumpjumper (at 3.8~4.0 pounds, those are the lightest frames I've weighed on my scale)

Vassago Bandersnatch

20" Bander with X9/XT drivetrain, Juicy 7's, WTB laserdisc trail rims and Conti Mountain Kings (both are pretty heavy), generic-ish post, stem, bar, etc. Its around 29 lbs, but I really couldn't care less.
