Daylight savings is upon us. For myself I picked up a pair of Outbound Lighting newest offerings to keep the fun going on the those weekday afternoon rides. Whats your setup?

Magic Shine 1700 lumens on the bar
(I may add is going on five years and still going strong)
Night rider 1000 lumens on the helmet.
Both have been in use several times this fall already.

Also just picked up Outbound Lighting set up, the Evo Downhill package. I’ve only used the bar light a few times but really like the output and the width of the light pattern. Had to wait to get the strap garmin mount for my helmet, as the stick on mounts won’t sit right.

first full night ride will be Monday most likely.

Here’s one of the areas I’ll be riding this week with the lights. Single track trails in the bosque, come up to spots like this and timed the sunset just right earlier this week. I think this was Monday evening.

Lezyne 1300xxl on helmet and one on bars. Gets the job done for not a lot of money, and plenty of life for a decent rip around Auburn

Smart man. Outbound lighting is making the best lights out there for sure. I’m on the flip side. I can ride at 6AM in native light and that makes me happy :)

Limekiln/Powerpole to woods across the ridge back down via Dogmeat and Priest then back to the truck. Slow leak in front tire on Ripley this morning so SS Salsa with loads of walking was the ticket today. It wasn't much fun but it was nice out there today!

I don’t know that he has ever tasted that nectar. I had the idea to get him to ride TNGR one time. I think he only rides Los Gatos?

After that the homies came over and we rode out past the spring that you could fill jugs and jugs of water.

Hahahaha You're right Tone but ... I've been to a bunch of places like the Gap ... JNT ... Demo ... Skegs ... Stevens Creek ... Wilder ... Ok not too many but I'm so easily amused ... it's sickening. LG Man is my enabler ... it's his fault eh.

When was the last time you left LG?
Weather and trail conditions were really really good in Auburn on Sunday. Hikers, trail runners, bikers, e-bikers, and brap braaaaapers were all out having some fun in the sun.

The recent atmospheric river event made the ruts on Hoosier Bar Trail a lot spicier. Hecka fun, yo.

I fkn heart Auburn!

I love my outbound hangover. I need to pick up a evo for the bar, having only the headlamp has its drawbacks on the descents. Rode solstice yesterday at 7 am in natural light it was perfect.

750 on bar/350 on helmet: overkill for 5:20am start on Truckee Legacy trail. 🥸

Honkerton: Usually played on freeway overpasses, but scores can be gotten along the TPBikeway. Most big rig honks wins. My high score of three was not challenged yesterday, but even one represents a unique mountain biking experience.

Then up to check snow level. Martis Creek has a few downed trees but otherwise gtg. Breezy and cool with few riders seen.

It's been a long time ^^^ but let me make my case bro. I'm too slow downhill to be in a crew ... ask Squashyo and LG Man. I talk to everyone way more than I should and I'm annoying like the know it all that I am. Riding for me is all about seeing my buddies and gal pals getting a great workout / climbing and coming back in one piece which means easy downhill. "Low skills = slow hills" ... kind of rolls off the tongue well eh? I'm no thrill seeker and ... I can't afford the crashing I would be doing if I attempted the Roughster / Squashyo riding lifestyle. Edit: Forgot an important piece. In 2013 my girlfriend told me and I quote ... "You're not even a real mountain biker" because I wasn't jumping creeks ... crashing, etc. like her friends hubby's were. Didn't bother me at all but there it is in a nutshell.

You may not be into being "rad" but you're still an OG in this community.
