Patience will be rewarded. The hero dirt isn't quite here yet. Just a little more time, until then Ord will have to do.

Rode around the neighborhood to get loose for a Kennedy ride tomorrow. George Slough is injured but still seeing people by appointment only at Sloughs Bike Shoppe. On the other side of Race street ... it shows that "A Lobster on the Loose" can indeed be fatal. Race Street Fish Market leveled by the white Lobster in the background ... Kinda sad!

My brother and I took my sister-in-law mountain biking for the first time. We did a fun, progressively more challenging loop around Ft. Ord. We even got her to ride chunky Trail 93 near the end and she enjoyed it (in retrospect, not as much during 😄). Trails are running great, lots of cars at Gigling at 10 am, more at noon, though the trails were relatively empty as everyone spread out, except for a surprising confluence of 20ish riders at the Trail 61 overlook.

Oh man we had a great time down at Ord, Creekside usual stuff but looped over into the Garrison side for the first time in a while. Was working too hard to stay out front of our quick group to take any photos. Aptos tomorrow with a battEry. So nice out there!

How is Saratoga Gap...rideable tomorrow?
I went on a just down the hill hike in Sanborn with some other families; not JNT but close-ish. Steeps were ideal but many mud bogs too. Found myself waffling between "I should be on two wheels" and "it would be bad form to tear up this bog."

So probably borderline / give it a few more days?

Thanks for the input....I think I'll pass for tomorrow.
If it is Midpen and it is open that means game on. Saratoga Gap trail is fine.
Did some trail work on darrington this afternoon, trail is looking fantastic. Nice to see someone already did a lot of trimming.

Rode culvert in the morning. Still muddy, people creating Strava lines and/or riding around the mud pits on the upper half. Needs a solid week of dry weather.

Hit joaquin miller and only did one lap because it was just mucky. Strange thing is it wasn’t bad last weekend. Time for some pavement.
Calero is open again, trails are generally good except for a few sticky/shady spots. The short mud bogs and creek crossings on Cottle left me pretty dirty at the end of the ride, enough that I washed off my bike, which is something I almost never do. I was pleased to see that people seemed to be riding through the mud (not around), which helps keep singletrack single.
JNT was pretty moist Saturday morning, but seemed like it was more from soaking in a cloud than the recent rains.

St. Joseph's was wonderfully tacky this morning.
