How often do you load up the car and drive an hour plus to ride? Where to? Today I am heading up to Larkspur to do the GG2MB route ( Golden Gate to Marin Brewing ), with trails less than a mile from home and Aptos 15 minutes away I rarely get out anymore but a good crew can make the trip worthwhile. Not the most exciting ride and next to no singletrack but the views are stellar.

Almost every single weekend. But that’s mainly for moto. Plenty of good mountain biking within an hour of San Jose.
Read about MBC closing on FB a couple of weeks ago and suggested doing a GGB2MRC ride in their honor. Glad some ones doing it...

Oh, an honor ride because otherwise i would never have thought of doing that ride, it has been 20 years since i lived up there but then it was either GGB2MB (Muir beach - I wonder if Pelican Inn still has Anchor on tap?), or it would be GGB2(H)MT (Holy) by way of blithedale, maybe today the max dirt version to top of Mt. Tam is doable on an e-bike?
Pretty much never. 30-50 mins? Every weekend I can, usually 2-3x/month.

Such a beautiful day out. 8 of us made our way through the Headlands. Bailed on Marin Brewing ( heard it was an hour wait for a table ) but made a pit stop at Cellarmaker to refill the Strategic Beer Reserve on the way back to Scotts Valley

Auburn is riding extremely well. Made the trek out to the Bear trail way out in the OHV area yesterday for some insane conditions.

Loop with the kid. Put a luftkappe in his fork. Much better, finally getting his bike close to dialed in.

Limekiln / Overgrown today with Brazilian Climber and LG Man. Darcio is headed to Tennessee soon so we need to get more rides in while we can. He will be sorely missed. Go Niners!

Stunning weekend, almost warm! Poison oak is starting to appear. I'm riding almost every day since weather forecast of 45 days of no rain (including the last 30) spells that the good trail conditions may be gone soon.

Did some trail work and didn't do a proper wash-up after. Now have six spots of poison oak all over my body. Mistake but not te end of the world since I have a bit of topical steroid cream handy.

Playing with the Orbea Rise alloy in Santa Cruz. This is a darn good bike!

Did laps on a local downhill loop with the Specialized World Cup XC team. Our pace was pretty much perfectly matched with my high travel emtb and them on their Epics.

3+ times a month in the spring and the summer, but took a break up until recently to just ride local (Skeggs and neighborhood stuff) while things were blown out. If I am doing an hour drive, I am usually drawn to Demo, but I have tasted most everything within an hour drive from Waterdog (Pacifica, campus, JNT/Skyline/Gap, Coe, Tamarancho, Muir Woods area, Russian Ridge, Wilder), but still looking for fun stuff I missed.

Demo was running fine this weekend, Braile and Ridge starting to dry out, Flow still has a little moisture, some mud bogs to be found in lesser traveled trails. Braile seemed like it had some bigger holes in it than I remember from November, but it could be my imagination.

I'm fortunate enough to live less than 30 min from Demo. I snuck in a ride just before the 49ers game. Timing was perfect as there was a continuous line of cars leaving as I headed in and still cars parked up and down Highland Dr. Got two laps on Braille and only saw one other biker. When I finished, just about everyone was gone. Still made it back in time to catch the end of the first quarter.

Finally getting back out there after over a month of hibernation. Visited Water Dog midweek and then went to school on Sunday. Was surprised to see that one of my favorite trails had a major reroute around the trickiest section due to the storms. Remember when we had those?

What’s the rush? I just stay off social, watch the game on the DVR, skip the commercials and halftime analysis, and save myself two hours for the same net result. Highly recommended!

I hope you rode the trail behind that photo. It is pretty good by local standards.

Are those 35s? Regeared? What kind of mileage do you get with those?

Nice 80.

He doesn’t look or he will cry. My 80 without sliders or a heavy rear bumper and 33” tires gets about 11-12 around town and 13-14 on the highway, and that is on the higher side for 80s. His truck is at least 500 pounds heavier. I hope he has gears, even with 33” tires you are pushing what the truck can do without gears. I keep waiting for the A750f swap to become available to put a 5 speed auto in which has a shorter 1st and less drop between gears.

37s, 4.88s. Cary is right. I don't pay attention to mpg.
You don't own an 80 series if you are at all concerned with gas milage or commuting to work. Not what they are made for.
