Happy to put the last few months in the rear view, crashes, sickness etc. Ended the year with some good rides down at Ord and a few in the sand close to home. Looking forward to some travel in the spring ( back to the North Shore? ) and more good rides with good people. Cheers y'all!

Got a ride in with Brazilian Climber / Darcio on Friday. Another today with a hiker gal pal. Nice pic girl! Shadow mashing near the lower Chopper pad.

Hit Joaquin Miller with my son. While there were really wet spots, it is not the sticky clay of most of the East Bay, more loamy and sandy. Only did 900 feet, so 249,100 left for my goal for the year.

I did an end of year ride at Tennessee Valley / West Tam which gave an excellent muddy descent down the coastal trail. The Pelican Inn was a total sh!t show so we didn't get the coffee and chips I was planning so the climb up Green Gulch was extra brutal.
New Years day did a ride up Railroad grade with the Mrs. After her broken arm in October she's only been doing zwift so she doesn't have the legs she used to. It was lovely and an even bigger sh!t show at the top than Pelican Inn!

Mission Peak Stanford side was spectacular today. The rain has wash off the roughness to a brownie top smoothness. Sections of previously easy washout were so intact that standing to grind is no problem.
With the below freezing temperature there wasn’t much hikers at all.

How dry was it? My brand new tire after the ride still look mint. Zero wet spot.

No ride today, but we've had a light drizzle all day along the Hwy 9 corridor. Not enough to break through the trees, but definitely enough to keep anything from being any drier tomorrow than it was yesterday.

Edit: it has become a proper light rain, and the ground is wet under my redwoods.

Out and back on Limekiln / Powerpole today with LG Man. Hiker gal reeled us in and we caught back up. She was game for a back and forth to the intersection of Limekiln and Priest. We couldn't drop her so she dropped us instead. Today's Shrooms on Power pole are colorful but in decline or deliquescent.

When you got vack to the parking lot, how much of a charge did you guys have left?

They had 60%. To eliminate range anxiety, Specialized has installed Turbo SL Range Extender (TM) charge points on longer routes, which are free to Specialized owners and $1 per 5 minutes for other brands. :D

We thought about riding up to the headquarters and charging while having a picnic, and the continuing on with the ride. Could be a fun ride, but not sure how much a 1 hour charge actually gives you. Could test out sometime I suppose.

Both full sized ebikes brought 2 batteries. I could not get 40 miles and 8k’ elevation on my bike. A full size levo/kenevo can with a very fit rider and 700wh battery, but my friend ran out around 30mi/6k I believe. The Levo SL just rode on a very low eco mode with 1 range extender and made the whole ride with probably another 1k’ elevation left of riding in his bike (Just under 2 bars). But he is very fit and can do this ride on a 170mm enduro bike.
Starting the year off with 2 flat tires courtesy of this bugger up above Aptos.
