Another weekend, so the chance to ride in daylight....

Today being Sunday, was really windy, but real warm too. Very odd for this time of the year, out of the wind it got to at least 20 deg C. So awesome weather for riding, made the most of it too.

I had a late late night, but was up at the crack of dawn, had a look outside and got busy on it...

With my time here nearing an end, made sure I visited some of my more favorite trails around the area I mainly ride in... So spent some 4 hours riding on with Whafe...

I did update my rather old and wrecked CamalBak Mule, dam thing was almost 4 years old. Has done me real well, got to the point where the sweat etc had almost seized the zips, I also ripped on my last off. So anyway, bought a new Mule, its been out a while. Was very happy with it, same old same old as we expect, but some useful mods...

Few pics, no action, still have not perfected the self timer action shots, even if I set it at 10 seconds and to shoot 10 shots, I still fock it up.... Just not cut out to be a pro self timer photo specialist....

Later

Great to get these reports Whafe! Nice shots as usual.

Had me a ride today as well, 3rd day in a row. Admittedly the previous two were road rides as I'm trying to get some base into the legs.

Was VERY hot today and the fact half the forest I went riding in got logged recently didn't help. Less shade and less singletrack too. They've rebuilt some ST but it is so depressing when a beautiful, flowing and twisty trail in the forest turns into a sandy, almost straight, unimaginitive affair through a seeming wasteland. Made me kinda sad.

Was still great to be out on the bike though! I love this sport!

Was hot here for this time of the year too. The trails here are as dry as a nuns nasty. Just no rain in this place. Probly the biggest difference with NZ....

Yep, when the forrest gets milled, destroys the trails. Mind you, when it is replanted, good opportunity to get in there and re build it and re direct the new trails...

And yep, I love this sport too.............. Whether its road for fitness or XC, AM, FR, DH etc etc it is great to be a part of it............

nice shots, Whafe! Enjoy that sweet weather....

I also managed to go for a 2.3 hour ride with my buddy Adrian.... it rained a little during the ride, nothing terrible, and temps were about 7 C...so not bad :D

over here, there's been lots of logging lately..so lots of mud and sections of trail closed..oh well..

here's some "evidence of the ride" :D

Great stokage, Whafe!!

Much better than not riding like me.:bluefrown:

At any rate, I took my wife and kid to go look for some suspension oil to a shop close to the trailhead. ;)

Once there, we went to the trailhead to have some quesadillas... and lo and behold!! My riding buddies are arriving from a ride! It was great to have a beer with them without even thinking about it. We spent a GREAT time telling ride tales to my wife!

My wife also enjoyed the ride and knowing some of what I love to do on my spare time... and seeing my buddies are just swell guys to hang on with.

Oh, that and doing some wrenching yesterday. First time I touch the front derr and shifter in a year!! Good work, SRAM!! I still haven't washed the bike since... uh... ah... oh... I can't remember but she needs a good wash soon.

Cris!! Great shots and riding too. You and your buddy have been pampering yourselves, uh?!! ;)

Nice Whafe! Though Spain looks suspiciously like Socal.

Ventana is looking good Cris, but I think Whafe's temperatures and sunshine are more to my liking.

Great shots as usual. Thank you.

I went for a ride today as well (on my hardtail, not the Titus :bluefrown: )...not as nice weather as you're having, but fun none-the-less. It snowed on me again today. Temps around 27 degrees F (no idea what that is in Celsius and couldn't give two squirts of piss anyhow :) ).

Thanks for the stoke.

c hero, yep for sure very similar I think in areas to So Cal. But in 2 weeks will be down under back at home in New Zealand, so back to some totally different terrain.

I am going to ride in So Cal come 6th january, will be when I pick up the Jones, so will ride with Aquaholic with his Jones, also it is quite on the cards that Jeff Jones may ride with us... That would be 3 Jones on the 1 ride.... yeah ha...........

geo, get with the metric system you old time scientist geo man

-1 is cool for sure, it gets to that here in Spain though, those cold ride rides....

Sweet Warp, get the wife to the trailhead, she will addicted to all things bikes before long.....

Whafe, what can you expect from someone who still uses a wishbone as part of his working tools.

Great pics Whafe. Just think you've had summer and fall riding in Spain (with a little Whistler and New York thrown in for good measure), then summer again when you get back home. Not only will you get to see your family and friends, but as a bonus you get the best time of year for riding as well.
