I wanted to thank everybody who took time out of their day to vote for Bad Idea Racing in the Race Face Ultimate XC Challenge and send us to the Trans Rockies. Josh the Wonderboy and I now have three weeks to prepare for the trip of a lifetime (seems like I've had a few of these, but I'll take another). Thanks for spreading the word, and I'll be sure to share with the class. I'm pretty sure part of the deal involves a daily blog leading up to and during the race so follow along if you're curious to see how this goes for us.

Freakin COOL!

That's fantastic Dicky, can't think of a better crew to have won. I looked at Trans Rockies a few years ago until I saw the price tag :eekster: !

...Someday, when I grow up I will have the money in the bike budget for it.

Now, you guys just need to go kick some serious booty!

Congrats, and so long as you train for each of these events as though they are the "trip of a lifetime" you'll do well. Best wishes for your upcoming preparation and for your performance in the event itself.

Congratulations!
Are you going first class? A motorhome to sleep in, daily massage, bike wash and tune up everyday plus some other goodies or are you going economy without all the cushy stuff?
I may be your driver if you're going first class. I'm going to have a blast especially since I got permission to bring my bike.:thumbsup: Damn, I hope they don't work me too hard.

We are getting the full hookup, but I don't know if they do it through the TR people. They may just be doing their own RV thing. I am waiting for details. I would go if they told me I had to sleep in a ditch and eat dog food.

I think we have to wear whatever Race Face says we have to wear. We are essentially indentured servants for the week.

Just got the call from Race Face. He needed our sizes and stuff. I found out we will be sleeping in tents just like last year. The RV is a support vehicle for all the stuff ( I guess, I was on the cell whe he called working a butt-load of jobs).

I told Josh the bad news:
"We'll be sleeping in tents"
then I told him the good news:
"We'll be sleeping in tents!"

The Trans Rockies wouldn't be the same without cold nights in a wet tent covered in frozen rain.
