I just received my new Ahrens frame with sliders. It can run gears but I'm going to set it up single.

Some build clues in a little story...

I woke up with a bad case of the DTs. :( I never should have taken thoes 240 syntace and followed em with the esi chaser. :eekster: That's the last time I hang out with Stan and that stylo dude Ralph. He thinks he's some kind of racing hero. Next time I will set my vector 20mm to the left and flow over to Rebas place avoiding that mess altogether. :ihih: So... you may be asking WTB? As in "where's the bike?" Well don't be a wisecracker and you will soon see...

Dirty photos coming soon... ;)

Nice - I like your clever write up.

Went with aluminum? The frame is a little reminiscent of a Yeti blue Rock Lobster on here a while ago.

Look forward to seeing the complete package!

:yesnod: mmm--hmm...that's what I'm talkin' about. looks sorta familiar...:D

Aluminum is real, baby...at least in that type of build with the Ahrens components. Looks like Mike finally broke away from fiddling with that sus-frame crap long enough to build you a nice hardtail 29er. Looking forward to seeing the bike when it's put together.

Interesting. The front end numbers suggest that you are not a fan of current 29"er forks and head angles. ;)

Should be an unique handling rig.
I new someone like you would pickup on this. Yeah... I'm not much of a conformist. The geometry is similar to the GF Rig. I'm 6'3" and I want a bike I can stretch out on.

Ride report soon...
