For real:

I stumbled onto this while searching for a roadie ride route from Palo Alto to Pacifica. :
That tool looks pretty interesting, but for you route from Palo Alto to Pacifica there are many choices. I'd check out Klimb (www.klimb.org) which is a great program.

I've been thinking about the possibility of merging the data from Bill Levey's Coe maps (http://www.wlevey.com/coepark/DwnLdData.htm) with that program. Unfortunately, I don't currently have to time or know-how to do that.

I can't seem to access that link from my father-in-laws 'puter at the moment.

I'll give it a check out when I get home.

I'm planning to head to Woodside (via Sand Hill & Whiskey Hill) then follow Canada Rd over to Crystal Springs Reservoir and on to Skyline Blvd the rest of the way. Pretty straight forward (or so it appears -- I'll know better tomorrow).

Cheers~

Some suggestions for part of your route:
Use the Sawyer Camp trail (not far past Bunker Hill Rd off of Skyline) and the trail extension thru San Bruno (when you exit Sawyer Camp go under 280 and use the frontage road to where it becomes an entrance again to 280, then bear left under 280 and you'll see the next part easily) to avoid some road and have nicer scenery; you can cut thru Skyline College (next left past Sneath Ln on 35/Skyline) too, avoiding a climb on Skyline and a busy intersection if you want to descend Sharp Park into Pacifica, depending where in Pacifica you're heading...
