I read somewhere (could be right here) that there is a trail going down from Hwy 5 (Dundas).
It starts at the top of the hill accross from the church between Burlington and Waterdown.

Anybody here run that trail before ? What is it like ? Might go and take a look there tomorrow night...

I think I know the trail you are talking of...I believe it's part of the Bruce Trail system and it runs over to Kerns Road and then across the top of the escarpment into Waterdown. Before you hit Kerns there are a few loops that make it easy to get turned around. Once you get to Kerns it's pretty well a single trail that gets you across. Overall it's basic singletrack with some obstacles, but nothing major. There's very little elevation change after Kerns, but it does add some major K's to the Watedown trails...

i ride these trails all the time.....lots of variety in there.....I'd start at king rd and head north.....couple of road crossing etc.....and watch for signs about no bikes (areas) IE: near the waterfalls...we've had alot of rain here the past few days, so she will be muddy....

Rode waterodown, er, got rained on at waterdown..

I went there today, and parked at rockcliff(subdivision area with boulders at entrance)
rode out towards snake road then road across the street over to what I'm guessing part of the bruce trail? Then the skies opened up on me!! I was soaked in seconds, so I did the road ride back to the van, least me and the bike got a free washing (muddy sections of the trail), I did run into a few hikers, noting that could ride out to rattlesnake point area?
but I mainly stayed on the trail with green marks on the trees, really need to hook up with some locals to really see what all there is down there...Back towards fanshawe lake I go...

Hey Vernon,

I was there too yesterday, but I started on the other end of Waterdown, towards Burlington.
I know the spot you talk about, we've parked there before, and then rode to Kerns road.

The trails I did this Sunday were pretty good. nothing extreme but pretty nice flowing trails.
It's all downhill (until you want to get back to the car :skep: ).

I haven't really found a nice loop yet, but there are tons of trails there. This time I ended up going back up Kerns road, and then cutting back along the top of the quarry to get back to the car.

Let me know if you want to hook up for a ride sometime. We are usually with 3 guys, but one is out now with a broken wrist (damn rocks), so if the other guys cancelles (like he did this weekend), I ride by myself.

rides

I probably won't be heading up there for a while, but definately would like to hook up with some of the locals, to get a "loop" type of trail ride in, where as the which way now sorta thing, when I crossedsnake road and headed up the "bruce trail" part (hill climb) I went straight thru to a farmers feild and ended up on a roadway, saw tire marks on the dirt path leading up to the road way, I wanted to head down towards the forest area, but that was when the skies opened up on me, had a nice wet road ride back to the car, I think maybe sometime later in august I'll head up there again, prolly after the 24 hour race

instead of going straight through, turn the other way at that junction (before the famers field)...and you will get a nice loop with some sweet downhill running....
