The Bicycle Alliance got the State to agree to issue vanity plates to bicyclists with the proceeds of the vanity plate going to the Bicycle Alliance. The plates which show a bicyclist on a road bike say "share the road". The slogan has been around for quite a while. Around here the Harley riders used to post the sign along the road or at Taverns with a motorcycle silhouette. It would be nice if people would share the road but I dont think it will happen anytime soon.

The Bicycle Alliance also got passed a law that finally makes it illegal to pass another vehicle when a bike is coming from the opposite direction. I am not sure why it was legal for so long when you figure the combined speed of bike and car is maybe 80-90 mph and there is no room for error.

Heres the link to the Bicycle Alliance and the info on the plate and state law.
