The deal is done... but I just purchased a set of Mavic crossland's to replace a set of Bontrager Superstocks. I took the tech/salesman's word when he said they would be a definite upgrade... but when looking online I notice the wieght isn't much different and the price is about the same!


Anyone have some opinion on this matter.... or interested in buy a pair of Superstocks?

Bontrager make great wheels - even though superstocks are their low end - i have a pair that is going on 4 years that haven't needed to be trued once.
if the deal is done its always nice to have extra wheels - put slicks on one set for town rides.
if you haven't ridden the mavics i'd take them back.

thanks for the reply. I rode the mavics and seem to enjoy them... but I haven't really hit the trail hard this year.

I guess one benefit is that I can run tubeless on the mavic's as opposed to the superstocks.

But as you were saying, yeah, by superstocks were pretty much fine.

I would say it's a lateral move rather than an upgrade. The Mavics might work a bit better with tubeless.
