I'm planning a trip to VT in a few weeks and will be staying in the Warren area. Any recommedations on trails to check out? Looking for XC single track, challenging terrain a plus. Any local rides?
Anything worthwhile @ Sugarbush? Not into hardcore DH, but wouldn't mind doing some all mountain. Thanks.

At Sugarbush, check out Grand Stand>Wood Lot>Big Birch>Burley Maple and Beech Nut. VH Traverse>Snowball>the Eden trails is generally more technical and steeper. There's new work every week and we should be opening several more trails later this summer.

The park just got a major overhaul too and has nice progression for learning. Even if you don't consider yourself a jumper, you need to get better at flexing and extending, absorbing and exploding, and the park is the place to do it.

The Mad River Riders trails are getting better all the time too, with help from folks like DaveVT. Check out our armoring and drainage projects on Enchanted Forest. He and Dwight moved an ~800lb rock by themselves. Many thanks!

You can ride up and down for free, but the lift makes it much easier. No real xc at the bike park, but there are some all-mountain routes. Total vert is ~1800' off the lift, with another ~1000' down to the valley floor.

I had an awesome week of mountain biking in VT. I wanted to thank Dave and all the other guys for showing me some of the local trails on Thursdays shop ride. Very cool to meet all of you and thanks for the good time. I also really enjoyed the trails @ Sugarbush. Anyone interested in riding this area should definitely check it out!
