So I just got a Gary Fisher Advance Disc about a week ago(my first real bike that's not from walmart). I've taken it out 3 times for a total of 12 miles and the paint it rubbed down to the frame already in 3 places where the cables hit the frame. Is this a warranty issue? I feel like 3 rides is too soon for this to happen. I understand normal wear and tear, but this seems like too much wear for the amount of use.

Cable rub would likely be considered as "normal wear and tear" and not be warranted.

It happens to any painted bike. Most manufacturers give you a small set of clear stickers that come with the manual and any other paperwork/spare bits that come with the bike.

I personally cut my own clear plastic patches out of thick plastic.
