Hello all. Walnut Creek will be reviewing recommendations regarding the future of its Open Space:

"In 2006 the Walnut Creek Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Commission appointed a Citizens Task Force to conduct a public participation process and formulate a report describing a vision for the future Walnut Creek Open Space System, and identifying potential steps and priorities to achieve that vision." - wcosf.org

Tonight, Monday July 7th at 7 PM at City Hall, the Park, Rec, and Open Space Commission will be holding their regular meeting. On the agenda tonight, is a review of the Open Space Vision Task Force Final Draft Report.

To view the report, please go here: http://www.wcosf.org/

There's some interesting material in the report regarding Open Space usage. Hopefully, the Commission will decide to hold public meeting regarding Open Space usage and expansion. If you live in WC or near a WC Open Space, please let me know and I'll alert you once the opportunity arises for Public Opnion.

Thanks!
Rich

Rats, missed the meeting (though I should be on their mailing list after submitting comments & attending meetings). Rich, thanks for posting - I'll take a look at the report.

Earlier this year they requested input from Walnut Creek residents; they posted the info on the trailhead boards (which I missed, and so did every mtn biker I've talked to). Not sure where else notices were posted, but I don't think they got a representative group of respondents. I hope they do have a public meeting - definitely let me know when you hear more.
