I'm planning an epic solo trip, just me and my BOB trailer, from Pipestem State Park (Site of family reunion) north to Snowshoe, maybe spend a week there, then take a train back to NY. I'd like as much of it as possible to be off road, in Monongahela State Forest. Where can I look for a map to help me with this journey?

My thought would be to get 1:250k or 1:100k maps from USGS, get them lamintated and take them with you. 2nd would be the DeLorme map books. Big and bulky but packed with trails, creek crossings, fords, elevation etc.... Beyond that, I've got the National Geo Topo! on the computer, it's pretty sweet (1:24k to 1:500k (I think ??) and can print out on water resistant paper. Same info on the USGS maps only in a snazzy program.

You will have an awesome time I bet.
