I need some advice - should I get a VP Free or Cove G-Spot? From the reviews that I have read, they both seem like awesome bikes. I am looking for a long travel All Mountain bike that can handle everything from agressive XC to FR and DH. The bike must pedal well and be a good climber.

Money is not really a problem as both these bikes fall within my set budget.

So what are the pros and cons of the two bikes? Which one would you choose?

Thanks!

The Cove is gonna bob more than a $10 hooker in New York. Concentric pivots suck for pedalling performance. The only saving grace is that it has a 5th Element shock, but any bike can "pedal well" if you crank up the pedalling platform.

I hear good things about how they ride but if pedalling performance is important to you, stay away.

Those are some nice choices. I'd go with the VP Free given your line-up... if your considering the cove I would also take a look at the banshee scream.. basically the same as the cove with a few other beneifts eg longer wrrnty, rave reviews from everyone who ones them. I personaly own the Banshee Chapperal, which is the scaled down scream ( slightly less travel, lighter frame) and to say I'am wildly happy with it is an understatement.... good luck with your new ride, whatever you get will be of good quality.. :)

The VP-Free is a much newer frame design and it has more travel (8.5 vs 6). Concentric pivots translate almost every pedal action into compression of the rear suspension.

I don't own a VP-Free, but thinking that any freeride fs bike is going to be "good" at xc is hoping for too much. It may be passable, but lots of travel and durable parts don't make for well-pedaling light-weight climbing bikes. If you keep this in mind when you buy it I think you will enjoy the bike more.
