Has anyone has had the Vorsprung Tractive tune done to their Super Deluxe coil and how much of an improvement was it?

Is it for someone looking to improve on specific things they don't like about the shock or is it a good upgrade that improves the shock for any average hack (like myself).

Any custom tune will be a noticeable improvement over stock, unless you're right in the sweet spot in terms of weight (170lbs).

Heavier or lighter than the average rider? Custom tune will be worth it.

Whether Tractive or Avalanche, that's up to preference.

The Tractive tuning system is done numerically - it's not just a response to a particular issue that people have (which is also a very good way of tuning suspension in its own right - specific problems usually have specific solutions), it involves thorough calculation of the damper curve for your frame and weight to match benchmarks that we have established. From there, we can make quantifiable adjustments manually in response to any particular requests or preferences that you might have. So to answer your question - it improves the ride for anybody.

There are hardware-related benefits as well (for example the linearisation of the damping curves in both compression and rebound due to the alterations we make to the base valve and valve configurations) but the biggest single benefit is that we can deliver you a very specific damper curve that's actually tailored to you and quantified in a meaningful manner.
