I just went to install my avid bb7 disc adapter into the disc mounts on the Aizan frame and discovered that they mounts aren't threaded. How the heck do I mount the adapter with screws if the mounts aren't threaded. Thanks for your feedback.

Simple. The threads are in the brake mounting bracket, not the frame tabs.

Or take it to an LBS ;-)

To add to what Shiggy said, the brake adapter goes in the inside of the disc brake tabs on the frame - so the sequence is: brake bolt --> frame tab --> brake adapter --> brake caliper.

Uh Ha! Thanks everyone. I've built 6 bikes to this point and I've never come across that one. I've always had threaded mounts. I thought they might have been stripped or something. I guess you learn something new every day.

And, no, I will never take my bike to an lbs to build. I have way too much fun doing it myself and way too little money to have someone else do it for me.

No. IS disc mounts have always had the threads in the brake, not the frame

Only disc post mounts are threaded. All IS brackets are threaded while the frame/fork tabs are not--gauranteed.

If it is not a post mount and it is threaded, it is not a disc mount.

I've owned, built, and serviced hundreds of bikes with IS disc mounts...NONE were threaded. Only post mounts and the old 22mm Hayes mounts are threaded.
