Very cool. I have seen 2 bald eagles near my area that have come back the past several years to have babies near the river. The nest is huge and the adult birds are even bigger when you see them in flight.
I love spending time in awe.icegeek said:Awe, isn't that nice?
Very cool. The last ride I remembered to take my camera on, I stopped for a break and realized I was being watched. Caught this guy getting some grand ideas about lunch 15 feet away. Yours still wins of course. That's an awesome shot!MDEnvEngr said:We see these guys a lot here on the Connecticut River in the winter. First time I've caught 2 of them sitting together though. I work at a powerplant, and the Eagles were watching our discharge (discharge is warm water, which keeps the ice away and also attracts the fish). Soon after the photo they each caught themselves a nice meal.

From one end of the country to the other. I was outside today and looked up to see 2 bald eagles soaring over the Boise river looking for a snack. Magnificent birds!MDEnvEngr said:We see these guys a lot here on the Connecticut River in the winter. First time I've caught 2 of them sitting together though.
