Slow day on VRC. Hopefully you are all out riding while I am stuck at work.

So, any exciting VRC gifts under the tree this year?

Santa got me a vintage SR BMX stem for the Champion build. A bit rougher looking than expected, but it may make the final cut.

Not a mountain bike, but I think it has some VRC cred. I'd been thinking about getting a road bike for a while.

Was that Shark built for an NBA player?

My vintage gifts were my very own "Klunkerz" and "Breaking Away" DVDs.
It uses 650c wheels which makes it look taller than it actually is. Its 58 center to top.

Not vintage per se... but some NOSsy tires and M900 shifter/brake and dérailleur group.

I got my Brave painted. Should be back in a few weeks. I also got a NOS xtr headset for it and a Klunkerz DVD.

My son's girlfriends Mom's stage name is Karmann. Small world.
Banks,
Here was

"The Danger Bunny"

I never had the passion for the car, but it sure was a great vehicle that wasn't appreciated until after it was gone.

Total function.

Well, not quite VRC, but the day after Christmas, I was over at Steve Garros house getting fitted for a fillet brazed frame. Super cool guy. He had a Land Shark in his garage too.

not mountain bike, but vintage for an old BMX project.

1) a NOS set of Shimano DX high Flange hubs
2) a used but in decent shape Dia Compe MX 1000 brake set

3) a good survivor Tuf Neck Pro Neck stem (already had the Crank set)

And just for fun the accumulation of parts so far...

I scored a Cook Bros. seatclamp off Craigslist and a NOS Kore Elite seat post from Martin Kurke (yes, that Martin Kurke) for a '94 Cannondale "M" frameset. Now if I could only find a 1 1/4" headset to finish the build!

I went on a bit of a buying spree prior to Christmas and didn't give the slow arrival of some items much thought....until I started opening presents only to find that my wife was grabbing them off the porch, wrapping them and putting them under the tree. I got tires, forks and even a frame. More fun to open them when they have wrapping paper.
I got socks

Me too. Wool socks to wear when I ride my VRC at night or when it is cold.
