helped setup a road bike the other evening.

what was interesting was we were putting a new chain on a trek road bike which was around the 2010 age. it was carbon fiber with aluminum drop outs

i repeat.... carbon fiber trek frame w discovery channel graphics!

the derallieur hanger was not replaceable, but was bent.

i was able to straighten it with my tool. besides my torque wrench, i think this is my second most favorite tool. you cant ride a bike with a bent derallieur.

it was rewarding to understand what was needed and why.

we got the new rider setup on the seat and his bike shifting perfect and he is out riding having fun.

what else is there.... but to help someone fix their bike and to go have fun!

at 6'5" tall 255lbs, i am not a road biker. but holy s#$& that bike can move!!! you just have to see a race bike move to know.

bladed spokes. slick tires, etc. wow. i was impressed.

My one and only road bike is a Trek Discovery Channel team bike. It is the last of the non slopping top tube frames Trek made. Mine is also handmade in Waterloo. I've had a lot of road bikes over the years and this one so far is the only keeper.
