I purchased a 2009 Specialized Stumpy HT 1.5 months ago and the rear brake made the horrible sound from day 1. I took it back to the bike shop and they said this is common (which led me here to find out). After researching and spending countless hours on trying to fix this noise problem from the tips and threads found through here with no luck, I found out the problem on my own.

It was just the positioning of my hydraulic line. I decided to pull and slide the rear hydraulic line towards the rear where more slack occurred on the caliper side and guess what? It worked. It just doesn't look as clean and the line has enough slack where it's close to the spokes which I don't like. If I pull the line back towards the front it makes the vibration/noise again when I brake.

Can anyone explain this? Thanks in advance
