Just wondering if a 36 R can be updgraded to RC2 and what parts would be involved? Are the lowers the same, and just the compression damper different (or does it just have knobs added?)

Mine is an '07 I think (oem on '07 bike anyway)

TNC you've had the RC2 apart, any comparison with the R?

I'm just thinking that for DH/FR if I find a bit much brake dive/wallow and want/need some compression adjust, it would be nice to be able to upgrade rather than replace, if the price isn't bad.

You would have to buy a whole new damper cartridge to go from an R to an RC2 and last time I checked, it wasn't cheap.

Rebuild is possible, a friend of mine broke the R cartridge due to excessive bottoming and he got RC2 cartridge installed on service. I dunno about his upcharge, but the cartridge isn't going to be cheap.
